Baseball and Bat
I hope you are all having a wonderful fall! I finished a pattern that I designed a few years ago but hadn't finished editing and writing directions for until recently. The baseball and bat pattern is now available!
This is a perfect toy for the little athlete! Because it is soft, this knitted version of the classic toy is great for use indoors and won’t break things the way a real bat and ball would.
Included in the pattern are directions, with photos, for making a foam insert with a dowel in the middle for added stability.
The pattern comes with two options for working the bat- flat or in the round. I like to avoid seaming wherever possible, so my first version of the pattern was in the round. However, getting the knitted fabric over the foam insert was extremely difficult so I added the flat version. This can easily be sewn up around the foam insert.
If you aren't a knitter or want a finished bat and ball, I have a few available in my Etsy shop.
